Advanced Motorcycle Training based in Aberystwyth

Mid Wales Advanced Motorists (MWAM) is an area group affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM)*.  Our motorbike courses are based in Aberystwyth and serve the Ceredigion and Powys counties of Mid Wales.

We promote motorcycle safety by assisting both new and experienced motorcyclists to develop their riding skills through the IAM “Skill for Life” motorcycle training course.

Come along for a free assessment ride - riding your motorcycle, you are followed by a trained observer.  After the ride the observer carries out an informal and constructive debrief, highlighting areas of your riding that are good and offering advice to help you improve on your motorcycle riding skills.

What then?

Following the assessment ride, if you think MWAM is for you, we invite you to purchase an IAM "Skill for Life" package.  Costing only £139, it provides everything you need to pass your Advanced Motorcycling Test.

The IAM “Skill for Life” Motorcycle Package includes

  • MWAM associate membership for one year including access to group events.

  • IAM Associate membership (upgraded upon passing the Advanced Test).

  • The excellent IAM book "How to Be a Better Rider ".

  • "Advanced Driving" the IAM tri-annual Members magazine.

  • An initial assessment (carried out by MWAM).

  • All Advanced Test preparation work (undertaken by MWAM).

  • The IAM Advanced Motorcycling Test fee.

Every new member is allocated an observer who will create a tailored package to meet your needs.

Full terms & conditions are detailed in the IAM "Skill for Life" enrolment form.
